The AFL-CIO serves as an umbrella for 56 labor unions in the United States, representing more than 12.5 million American workers. Through its education, political action, organizing, and other programs, the AFL-CIO empowers working people on the job, strengthens their role in the community, and advances their interests in the halls of Congress.

The BlueGreen Alliance is a national, strategic partnership between labor unions and environmental organizations dedicated to expanding the number and quality of jobs in the green economy. The Blue Green Alliance unites more than 14 million members and supporters in pursuit of good jobs, a clean environment and a green economy.

The Coalition for Smarter Growth is the leading organization in the Washington D.C. region dedicated to making the case for smart growth. Their mission is to promote walkable, inclusive, and transit-oriented communities, and the land use and transportation policies and investments needed to make those communities flourish.

Good Jobs First is a national policy resource center for grassroots groups and public officials, promoting corporate and government accountability in economic development and smart growth for working families. Good Jobs First works with a very broad spectrum of organizations, providing research, training, communications and consulting assistance.

The Industrial Areas Foundation is the nation's largest and longest-standing network of local faith and community-based organizations. The IAF partners with religious congregations and civic organizations at the local level to build broad-based organizing projects, which create new capacity in a community for leadership development, citizen-led action and relationships across the lines that often divide our communities.

International Transportation Learning Center is the only national organization that focuses on the frontline workforce in public transportation and transportation in general.  It is the only organization funded by the Federal Transit Administration, the US Department of Labor, and the Transit Cooperative Research Program to develop and support technical training partnerships for today’s and tomorrow’s front-line work force. 

Jobs to Move America is a strategic policy center that works to transform public spending and corporate behavior using a comprehensive approach that is rooted in racial and economic justice and community organizing. We seek to advance a fair and prosperous economy with good jobs and healthier communities for all.

Jobs with Justice is a grassroots network of more than 200,000 supporters that leads strategic campaigns to build power for working people. By bringing together labor, community, student, and faith voices at the national and local levels, Jobs with Justice is creating innovative solutions to the problems workers face today.

The Partnership for Working Families is a national network of leading regional advocacy organizations who support innovative solutions to our nation’s economic and environmental problems.

The Sierra Club is the largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization -- with more than two million members and supporters. Their successes include helping to pass the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act. More recently, they have helped lead the charge away from the fossil fuels that cause climate change and toward a clean energy economy.

The Transportation Equity Network (TEN) is made up of more than 350 community organizations in 41 states working to create an equity-based national transportation system. TEN is a grassroots project of the Gamaliel Foundation.

Transportation for America (T4A) is an alliance of elected, business and civic leaders from communities across the country, united to ensure that states and the federal government step up to invest in smart, homegrown, locally-driven transportation solutions.

The Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO, a coalition of 32 member unions, provides a bold voice for workers in every mode of transportation – both in the private and public sector – devoted to protecting middle-class jobs, expanding collective bargaining, and ensuring modern, safe, and secure transportation operations and infrastructure. 

Transit Riders for Public Transportation is a national campaign initiated by the Labor/ Community Strategy Center and Bus Riders Union to bring environmental justice and civil rights priorities to the upcoming federal surface transportation act—whose budget is estimated to be at least $500 billion.

The Transit Workforce Center (TWC) supports the workforce development needs of urban, suburban, tribal, and rural public transportation entities, with an overarching mission to assist the industry as it recruits, hires, trains, and retains the diverse workforce needed now and in the future.

USAction is a federation of 22 state affiliates, like Citizen Action New York, that builds power by uniting people locally and nationally, on-the-ground and online, to win a more just and progressive America. USAction promotes investments in America’s future, like good jobs with benefits, healthcare for all, and the rebuilding of our infrastructure. 

The United States Public Interest Research Group (U.S. PIRG) is a consumer group that stands up to powerful interests whenever they threaten our health and safety, our financial security, or our right to fully participate in our democratic society. For decades, they have stood up for consumers, countering the influence of big banks, insurers, chemical manufacturers and other powerful special interests.

Working America is the fastest growing organization for working people in the country today. As the AFL-CIO’s community affiliate, it focuses on building alliances among union and non-union working people.
