The ATU continues to closely monitor the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our members and the riding public by providing our Locals and members critical assistance and support.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in North America, the ATU International has been working with our Locals to protect the health and safety of our members who are essential workers on the frontlines of this crisis. We are demanding additional urgent action to ensure employers and elected officials implement comprehensive plans to protect our members on the job and reduce the risk of exposure to the riding public.

The virus has infected more than 88,566,961 people in the United States and 3,926,613 in Canada, resulting in at least 1,040,236 deaths in the United States and 41,865 in Canada.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the ATU mourns the deaths of those 220 members who put their lives on the line as essential frontline workers during this global crisis. We send our deepest sympathies and condolences to their families, extended families, friends, their Locals, and all who knew them.
