Today, while in California, International President John Costa met with One Fair Wage President Saru Jayaraman to talk about ending the sub-minimum wage for tipped workers. The service sector is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors of the U.S. economy but also the lowest-paying.

One Fair Wage works to advance policy and drive industry change, including the 25 by 250 campaign to move legislation and ballot measures in 25 states to raise the wage for millions of workers. Under President Costa’s leadership, the ATU is reaching out beyond the transit industry to raise the bar for workers everywhere. This is what solidarity looks like!
