The ATU is fighting for political leaders who will fight for policies that will fundamentally improve workers lives.

The ATU is fighting for political leaders who will fight for policies that will fundamentally improve workers lives. That's why International President John Costa, as a Democratic National Committee Delegate, attended the DNC Labor Council Winter meeting featuring labor leaders from across the movement to talk about putting working people at the center of the party. Speakers included Labor Council Chair Stewart Applebaum, Vice Chair Roxanne Brown, AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond, and others.
Inspired by the speech of Saru Jayaraman representing nonunion restaurant workers, Costa also attended the One Fair Wage (OFW) press conference and had the opportunity to speak about the ATU’s solidarity with all workers regardless of Union status. “I was a cook, my mother was a waitress. I know about the work you put in to feed the public,” said Costa. “You're an important part of our labor movement, representing millions of nonunion workers. The way you're being treated is unacceptable, and the ATU stands with you.” Thank you to the DNC Labor Council for hosting us.

The ATU will continue to stand up for our members and all workers and make sure our voices are heard wherever and whenever.
