IP Costa convened another New Officers’ training in Washington, DC.

Recognizing the importance of preparing our Local leaders for the challenges ahead, International President Costa convened another New Officers’ training in Washington, DC, this week.

Costa addressed the new President/Business Agents and Financial Secretaries at a ceremony to wrap up the training. “The job of a Local Officer is not an easy one. I know firsthand. You have to engage and educate your members when it comes to contract negotiations, strikes, organizing drives, and other actions,” Costa told the Local officers. “We hope you enjoyed this week, and please know the International is here to support you. We hope you not only learned new skills this week but also gained insight from the interactions you had with your fellow Local officers. Thank you for all you do for our members.”

Also in attendance at the training were International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo and International Secretary-Treasurer Ken Kirk. Thank you to our newest Local leaders in attendance for your commitment and dedication to our Union.
