ATU International President John Costa was in Tampa this weekend to engage with delegates at the ATU Florida State Conference Board Meeting.
“Florida’s ATU Locals are proving every day that when we organize, mobilize, and stand together, even against the odds, we can beat back anti-union attacks like SB 256, protect our members’ safety on the job, and ensure that new technology works for workers, not against them,” Costa said. “By growing our union, engaging in the political process, and developing the next generation of skilled transit professionals, we’re building a stronger future for public transit and the communities we serve.”
Together, this conference reaffirmed the power of the ATU, especially in one of the toughest states in the country for unions, showing that, when united Locals and engaged members work together, our collective voice is strong enough to defend workers’ rights, shape public policy, and build a better future for transit workers across the Sunshine State.
,Costa was joined by International Vice President Natalie Cruz and a host of politicians from the state of Florida who showed their support for ATU members and labor.
