Locals from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama gathered in Baton Rouge, LA, yesterday for a meeting of the Louisiana Legislative Conference Board to talk about issues affecting our members, our Union, and our communities. International Secretary-Treasurer Kenneth Kirk kicked off the meeting by thanking our Locals for their leadership, commitment, and dedication to our members and our Union.
At the meeting, the attendees heard presentations on state and local legislative issues, apprenticeships and workforce development, and organizing. The Locals also made reports on their successes and challenges from recent bargaining rounds and political action.
