Local 689 Fairfax Connector members on strike!

Today, on day one of our strike, Local 689 Fairfax Connector members showed contractor Transdev that we will not stand for unfair labor practices and disrespect on the job. Hundreds of bus operators and mechanics hit the picket lines at 2am. Workers were joined by AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, who came to show solidarity and let our members know they have the support of the millions-strong labor movement behind them.

Local 689 and Transdev have been in negotiations for a new contract since October of last year, but Transdev has refused to bargain in good faith. Our members deserve true retirement security, more sick days, and competitive wages, and they need it now. Our members will continue to stay strong and united and won’t back down.
