IP Costa Meets with NJ Governor Murphy on Critical Safety and Labor Issues for Our Members

This week in Trenton, NJ, ATU International President John Costa joined New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech to meet with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to discuss critical safety, health, and labor issues impacting our members, NJ riders, and communities across the Garden State. Among the issues discussed was proposed legislation on microtransit. Costa expressed to Gov. Murphy our concerns that the state not privatize public transit and that any microtransit service creates good union jobs for our members and safe and reliable service for our riders.

Joining Costa was International Vice President Ray Greaves, ATU New Jersey State Council Chair Orlando Riley, and ATU staff, who also visited the State Legislature and met with Assemblywoman Barbara McCann Stamato. Our Union is always advocating for the rights of our members and riders to ensure safe, reliable, and robust public transit.
