Today, International President John Costa visited all three picket lines to fire up our 650 Fairfax Connector bus operators and mechanics on the second day of their strike and called out Fairfax County Supervisor Jeff McKay for trying to pass the blame for this strike.
“I came out here to visit all three lines. I want to thank you for being out here representing our members across the U.S. and Canada. I’m proud of you and your fight for fair wages and benefits that you deserve. Your fight is our fight,” said Costa, who was joined on the picket lines by International Vice President Anthony Garland. “Chair Jeff McKay should immediately agree to meet with Union leadership instead of doubling down on cheap, political tricks that are not fooling anyone. The International, your GEB, and our more than 200,000 members are behind you, so hold the line!”
It was an inspiring day visiting our Fairfax Connector members on their picket lines. It is clear that they are strong and united and will not back down until they get a fair and just contract.
