Today, International President John Costa kicked off a new “Train the Trainer” program our ATU International Organizers are taking this week to help better prepare our Locals and their members for the fights they face.
“With the beginning of the year, I wanted to bring our Organizing staff together to see how we are doing and strategize for the coming year,” Costa told the Organizers. “This new ‘Train the Trainer’ program you are taking will be critical in mobilizing our Locals and their members to win strong contracts, organize new members, and face the new challenges - micro-transit, the transition to electric buses, privatization, and other issues - that lie ahead."
Conducted by ATU Director of Campaigns Department Justin Panos and other ATU International staff, the Organizers will be learning new skills and techniques to mobilize our Local members to get more involved and play critical roles in organizing and contract campaigns. The International will eventually roll out this ‘Train the Trainer’ program for Local leaders and members across our Union.
