Today, International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo, ATU’s first Latina Executive Officer, had the honor to represent our Union at the White House Cinco de Mayo celebration. She was joined by other Mexican and Latino trailblazers, including Congressman Joaquin Castro, Senior Advisor to the President Tom Perez, Senior Advisor to the Vice President Sergio Gonzales, and other esteemed guests from every sector of the economy, including television’s Cristo Fernandez, celebrity chef Grace Ramirez, and Miami Heat basketball player Jaime Jaquez Jr.
Cinco de Mayo marks the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla and Mexico’s victory over invading French forces. We’re lucky to have IEVP Trujillo, our very own Latina pioneer, as a leader of our great Union. Thank you for representing us! Happy Cinco de Mayo! #cincodemayo
