IP Costa and Local 1181-New York, NY, Meet with NYC Mayor Adams on School Bus Driver Shortage and Possible Strike

In New York City, NY, International President John Costa joined Local 1181-New York, NY, for a meeting with NYC Mayor Eric Adams to discuss the school bus driver shortage and the possible school bus driver strike in NYC. The Local was encouraged by the meeting after recently delaying their strike to start the new school year.

While the Local remains hopeful, our Union is prepared to take the necessary action that will achieve a contract that recognizes the significant role our school bus workers play in their communities. Local 1181 President/Business Agent Tomas Fret and staff, as well as International Vice President Mark Henry, joined Costa at this important meeting.
